High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale is adding “producer” to her resume.

The 22-year-old actress is in negotiations for a one-year deal with FremantleMedia North America, the production company behind “American Idol.”

Tisdale will develop reality shows aimed at the younger demographic, and will stay behind the camera. She already has numerous endorsement deals, with such products as Degree Girl deodorant and Huckleberry Toys, and the FremantleMedia deal is another step in her transformation into a global brand.

Tisdale, who plays rich-girl Sharpay Evans in Disney Channel’s lucrative “High School Musical” franchise, is also in negotiations to star in a remake of “Teen Witch for Tom Cruise’s United Artists company.

The 1989 original starred Robyn Lively as an unpopular high school teen who learns she’s descended from the witches of Salem and has inherited their powers. The movie was a fantasy musical. A writer will be sought to pen the update.

Tisdale recently wrapped production on her theatrical film debut, the Fox adventure comedy feature “They Came From Upstairs,” and is in preproduction on a third “High School Musical” movie, which is being prepped for the first time as a theatrical feature.

Her first feature, the direct-to-DVD comedy “Picture This,” comes out on July 22. She is also working on a second album.

Dance Rehearsals for High School Musical 3 has begun for Ashley this March 27! She was spotted leaving a dance studio in Utah, talking on the phone like something is making her angry and carrying her cute dog, Maui. I hope she’s fine, because there seems to be something wrong when she’s talking on the phone. Check out the photos by clicking on the image below.

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is finding herself on the defensive again after rumors surfaced last week that she had more plastic surgery. “People are saying I had another nose job and I did not. That’s ridiculous,” Tisdale tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I was away in New Zealand filming a movie (They Came From Upstairs) and so people think I went away to have more work done. But I didn’t.” Tisdale, 22, had a nose job in last November to correct a deviated septum and to smooth out two bumps from when she fractured her nose as a teen. The singer/actress was slammed by critics, saying that she didn’t have to change the look of her nose in order to fix her septum. “[Tabloids] have doctors talk about what they think I did with my surgery, but they did not examine me,” Tisdale says. “They don’t know what I have inside my nose.” “It’s very irresponsible for a medical professional to comment on someone whom they have not examined,” notes Tisdale’s rep, Scott Appel. Rumors also recently surfaced that Tisdale, who is in Utah to film High School Musical 3 had a breast augmentation. “Look at me,” she says, laughing. “Does it look like it to you? No! It’s ridiculous. I’m not for plastic surgery. I’m not going to get another surgery. I can promise you that.”

When it comes to BFFs, High School Musical 3 stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale certainly fit the bill.

While there’s false rumors that Ashley is trying to “steal” Zac Efron away from Vanessa that pop up from time to time, the fabrications haven’t caused the two to drift apart.

“I call her my twin sister. She’s always there for me,” Tisdale said in the latest issue of US Magazine. “Some people are really competitive; we’re not. We’re really supportive of each other. You don’t find that a lot in this business.”

Vanessa Hudgens was next to shower her friend with praise.

“We were never competitive in any way, shape or form. We completely understand each other,” she said. “She’s a lot of fun, and she’s just grounded.”

The duo’s favorite thing to do while hanging out? “Shop!” exclaimed Hudgens.

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale was spotted out for a quick tanning session at Sunset Tan in Studio City earlier today (January 21).

The actress, who spoke to People magazine about her recent nose surgery for their January 28th issue, then stopped into the local Coffee Bean and picked up some drinks before heading home.

As for the People interview, Ashley tells that she “kind of freaked out. I was so swollen, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, is it going to stay like this?’ “

Fortunately, there are no regrets from Tisdale’s perspective on having the procedure - but she is sorry she decided to sing in public two weeks later.

“People were saying I was ‘unveiling my look,’ but I was still recovering! That’s not what I look like right now,” she tells the magazine, adding, “I think I still look like me.”
